About Us

Our Story

GIA’S Mercato Italiano is officially open in Mamaroneck, New York, bringing an authentic taste of Italy to the heart of Westchester. Our goal was to recreate the feeling of an Italian market—something that feels warm, familiar, and full of incredible food—just like home.

Every product in our store is imported directly from Italy. We carry everything from fresh pastas, meats, and cheeses to pantry staples, snacks, oils, beverages, and even Italian cleaning and personal-care products. Our shelves are stocked with beloved Italian brands such as Nutella, Kinder, Mulino Bianco, Rio Mare, and La Cerignola- items that many people grow up with in Italy but are hard to find locally.

I was born and raised in New York, but my family is from Naples. Growing up, we traveled back to Italy every year, and it truly became a second home to me. GIA’S is a way for me to share a piece of that childhood and culture with the Westchester community.
What also sets us apart is the quality of our products. Italian food is made with simpler, fresher ingredients, and we are very focused on offering healthier, more thoughtfully produced options. We also carry a large assortment of gluten-free products, so everyone can enjoy authentic Italian food in an inclusive way.

In true Italian tradition family, is everything. That’s why my wife, Lauren, and I named the store after our four beautiful children- Gianpiero, Isabella, Antonio, and Sofia. GIA’S Mercato Italiano is meant to be more than a store—it’s a little slice of Italy for anyone who walks through our doors.
